Monday
night, August 16, 2010 was
commemorative of Elvis Aaron
Presley's passing, 33 years ago. Few
people make an impact on the whole
world, fewer are remembered even 5
years after their passing. I think
it is worthwhile to think about his
legacy. A transfer of love occurs
between performer and audience. I
heard that Elvis always wanted his
fans rather than dignitaries to be
in the front rows, so that the
energy from those who were truly in
love with him could feed him and he
in turn could convey to them his
love. It's almost like nuclear
fission, affecting lives in broader
and broader circles indefinitely.

ClassicAutoPros with friends Bill
and Pat Meyer folded ourselves into
a beautiful, red, '57 Eldorado
Bairritz Convertible at 4:30 PM on
Monday and proceeded on the hour and
a half journey from our home in St
Augustine, FL to Sanford, FL.
Earlier we had "Tony" detail the car
and planned to take sandwiches
because timing a relaxing dinner
seemed out of the question. Sanford
has done a great job of refurbishing
a quaint downtown, but as we
arrived, many establishments were
closed for either the day, or the
season, so finding the theatre, on a
side street, was somewhat of a
puzzle exacerbated by the
extreme heat that we are having
in Florida this year. The car only
needed more oil and water once on
the way down. Thank God that Bob can
fix anything.
The
show was magnificent. There was a
pre-show by a 5-year old named
'Gabriel' in leathers -- a protege
of Randy Elvis Walker -- so, so
good, but the tribute that was
afforded in the next hour and a half
really stirred the soul and made us
understand again the magic and
majesty of bringing to the world the
essence of Elvis. We thoroughly
enjoyed the entire performance in a
way I cannot explain -- Elvis Lives
